A "Plan" At Last!
I plan and plan and plan my life to the last detail. I usually know what I'm going to be doing day to day, hour by hour. So I don't handle spontaneity very well. One of the reasons I'd like to travel more. Airlines and hostels don't care if I have it written down in my planner, they can't change schedules and bookings just for lil'ol'me. I need to loosen up a bit.
So when Tesarski said she's like to go on a Europe trip with me I jumped on it and wanted to immediately start planning details. But I now realize that planning a trip in detail 4 years in advance... Not easy my friend, not easy. Which is why I wanted to mention here that: I'm okay with that. She says she likes my new idea of waiting until I graduate (plan: 2009) which gives me 3 years to save. And since she graduates a year ahead of me that gives her a year to work off debts and save for the trip. Also if I do the Co-op program that sets back my graduation at least by a semester. So depending on when we depart that gives her anywhere from a year to 2 years to work. Less stress and more time for me to read every known travel book and website in exsistence.

A Dream From Far Away
Every kid dreams of far away places. Some dream of fantasy lands filled with hobbits and mutant x-men. Other see foreign lands of France and Spain. Mix a little bit of everything and you've pretty much summed up my childhood. I read far too much as a kid.
Stir into that batch a summer long trip to Vietnam when I was 7, many visits to Vancouver & Edmonton, a high school band trip to Scotland and another recent trip to Vietnam as an adult? All these elements have instilled in me a desire to see the world. There are many reasons for my travel loving-ness. I hope to explore those reasons, for my benefit as much as yours, the reader, over the next week, month, year, however long it takes me. I hope, though, that I have most of it figured out in time for my beloved idea of a fantasy.
My Europe Trip. Like I said, every kid dreams of far away places. Over the years my dreams have developed into a 3-4 month long backpacking trip in Europe. The cheapest hostels, the finest foods, the most expensive camera I can afford, the furthest sights from home and the most amazing museums and art in the world all wrapped neatly into a
MEC traveling pack.
Hang on tight ;)
P.S. Jeez, how corny was all that hey? I have such a flair for the melodramatic.
